orange apple spice jam

Makes: 3 Cups Jam

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs apples

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • zest of one orange

  • juice of one orange

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice



Directions

  • Peel and core your apples, then cut them into small wedges. If you want a perfectly smooth jam you can puree your apples in a blender or food processor.

  • in a large sauce pan combine all of your ingredients and cook on medium heat.

  • CONTINUE TO COOK THIS UNTIL STIRRING OCCASSIONALY UNTIL MOST OF YOUR LIQUID HAS COOKED OFF. AS YOU STIR THE APPLES SHOULD SORT OF MASH THEMSELVES DOWN.

  • oNCE MOST OF YOUR LIQUID IS GONE YOU WILL WANT TO STIR FREQUENTLY AND COOK UNTIL YOU DONT SEE ANYMORE LIQUID POOLING UP WHEN IT SITS. THE JAM WILL ALSO BE ROUGHLY TWICE AS THICK AS APPLESAUCE.

  • Let this cool till room temperature and then spoon it into a jar or bowl, cover and refridgerate.
